One of the most important parts of video is the first couple of seconds, because these crucial seconds is when the viewer decides whether or not to click off or continue watching. When it comes to video marketing two of the most essential elements is a hook and cohesiveness. This is even more the case for Youtube videos because watch time plays an important part of the algorithm and determining who keeps coming back to your videos. Which is where having a custom animated intro and end-screen can help.
When coming up with the concept of Chaitali's intro, I wanted it to fit her bold personality and brand which is why vibrant colors popping gradients, eye-catching graphics, and electric music was used to blend her personality and brand together; to create a more cohesive/ memorable look to all of her videos and to give viewers a glimpse of Chaitali's personality. It was also important to make sure video matched the subject of the channel, otherwise it would be jarring for any viewer.
Every video you post is an opportunity to hook a viewer and convince them to binge watch your other videos. An important element that often gets overlooked but is crucial for for converting a viewer into a fan is an end-screen, because this makes it easy on the viewer and tells them which video of yours they should watch next. Having an animated end-screen is like having entertaining credits, it keeps people watching up until the very last second and as mentioned before this is vital to being successful on youtube. Making sure the end-screen matched the intro was also important because I knew it would become a brand marker for viewers and a cohesive element for all of her videos.
